For more than eight years I've designed interfaces across rail, aerospace, defense, and automotive. Most recently that means turning engineering requirements into screens people use under time pressure.

I work as the translation layer.
Most of my work sits between groups that speak different languages. My job is to turn what each of them knows into one design the team can build and the people using it can trust.

Every state a screen can be in, including fault and recovery states, mapped while it's still a drawing.

AI orchestration
Designs generated from the live requirements and built straight into Figma, so gaps show up during design.

Automated audits check every state and screen against its requirement before code is written, then engineering and I sign off.

04 · Principles
What I hold to.
Remove the right things.
In dense, high-stakes tools, the hard part is simplifying without losing anything essential.
The person stays in control.
Whoever is using the system can always see what the automation is doing and step in to take over.
Judgment stays human.
I direct, edit, and approve. Claude never makes the final call.
05 · Where AI fits
How I use AI.
I use Claude to build and check design work. Most of my effort goes into the structure it works inside.

When Claude's design output wasn't consistent, we turned our design system into a tokenized markdown file to put guardrails on what it generates.
Outside of work
I build new things with a small group of engineers and designers, and we keep pushing each other.
